

C. A. "PETE" SHELTON President
Shelton was elected President of the Board of Commissioners in 2001. Shelton, who served as Beaumont's fire chief for 20 years, was first appointed to the port board in 1989 as one of two at-large commissioners. A Beaumont native, Shelton joined the fire department in 1950. He was fire chief from 1976 until he retired in 1996, and served as Interim City Manager and Emergency Management Coordinator for the city. Shelton also served as president of the Sabine-Neches Chiefs Association and the Texas Fire Chiefs Association, and has been active in numerous civic organizations including the American Red Cross, Boy’s Haven, United Way and Beaumont Main Street.
FLOY NELL CLARK

When she was appointed to the board in 1999, Ms. Clark made history by becoming the first woman ever to serve on the governing body of the port. She retired after 30 years of service with Sun Oil Company. She is a member of the Texas Silver-Haired legislature and the National Silver-Haired Congress; members of both groups volunteer their services as advocates for senior citizens by working with the elected legislators. Her role as a senior volunteer is well known in the area.
H.M. "HENRY" NIX, JR. Vice President

A veteran of almost 50 years in the banking profession, Nix was first elected to the board in 1983. He served as vice president from 1989 through 1995, and from 2002 to the present. He also served as secretary-treasurer in 2001 and 2002. A lifelong resident of Beaumont, Nix has been very active in civic and community service. He is past president of the Young Men's Business League, former chairman of the South Texas State Fair, past chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, past president of the Lamar University Cardinal Club, served as division chairman for United Way of Beaumont and is a longtime member of Calder Baptist Church.
LEE E. SMITH

A retired office services clerk for Ameripol Synpol Corp., Smith has lived most of his life in Beaumont. Smith is active in community affairs, serving as vice president of the Beaumont Metropolitan YMCA Board of Directors, president of the North End Neighborhood Association, service officer of the Dorie E. Miller Post 817 of the American Legion, vice president of the 11th Street Bingo Board of Directors, member of the NAACP, board member of Beaumont Main Street, trustee of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church and member of the Charlton-Pollard Alumni Association. Smith has served on the Board of Commissioners of the Port of Beaumont since 2002. He and his wife, LaRue, have one daughter.
LOUIS M. BROUSSARD, JR.

Broussard joined Beaumont Rice Mills in 1978, and has served as its president since 1993. A member of a pioneer Beaumont family, he received a BBA degree from Lamar University in 1983. Broussard is a member of the board of directors of the Rice Millers' Association, is very active in promotion of international trade in the rice industry. Broussard is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Foreign Trade Zone of Southeast Texas, and has served on the Board of Commissioners of the Port of Beaumont since 2001.
GEORGINE GUILLORY Secretary-Treasurer

Guillory was appointed secretary-treasurer in 2007. A lifelong resident of Beaumont, Ms. Guillory is a self-employed businesswoman who is very active in civic and community affairs. She serves on the board of directors of the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, SAFE Credit Union, Beaumont Community Housing Development, the Lamar Alumni Association and Gift of Life Foundation. She is a graduate of Hebert High School and Lamar University, and was a member of the 2000 class of Leadership Beaumont. She has been a member of the Board of Commissioners since 2003.
