The Port of Beaumont Board of Commissioners today voted unanimously to amend a lease agreement with Port of Beaumont Petroleum Transload Terminal, LLC for the expansion of its property at the port’s Orange County Terminal. The company is a subsidiary of Jefferson Refinery. The project is funded through the port security grant program.  Brystar will perform boring under the Neches River from the Beaumont facilities to the Orange County Terminal. "This project will provide fiber optic connectivity for security and other things from the Orange County Terminal to our main command and control center,” Fisher said.

The board voted to award a contract to SQSI, Inc. for the services associated with the port’s security system engineering, integration, installation and maintenance. The board voted to approve the purchase of rail switch materials for the Union Pacific Railroad Company and BNSF Orange County Terminal rail access. The purchase will complete the rail access for its Orange County Terminal rail loop. "That’s one of the final pieces of the puzzle for the entire loop project in Orange County,” Fisher said.
