Port handles record cargo

A 32-axle self-propelled modular transporter is used to
transport the hydrocracker reactor through the port terminal.

A 1,378-ton hydrocracker reactor is discharged from the m.v. Clipper Cheyenne
over the Port of Beaumont's roll on - roll off ramp.

The heaviest single piece of cargo ever handled by the Port of Beaumont was recently discharged from a ship at the port's roll on - roll off ramp.

The giant cargo was a 1,378-ton reactor vessel destined for the Exxon/Mobil Beaumont refinery. The vessel, a hydrocracker reactor, was manufactured in Italy. The reactor will prepare an existing unit at the ExxonMobil refinery to help make clean fuels for the future.

The transportation of the vessel from the manufacturer in Italy, across the Atlantic and through the port to the jobsite was coordinated by Fagioli USA Inc. Stevedore for the discharge was Cooper/T. Smith Stevedoring Company.
