If a citizen has a complaint against a Port of Beaumont police officer, the complaint will be directed to the Port of Beaumont Director of Security, Facilities and Regulatory Compliance through Human Resources. For complaints against Patriot guards, call the Port of Beaumont Police Chief at 409-299-4266. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Department policy requires all complaints filed against police officers and/or Patriot guards must be in writing, signed by the person filing the complaint, and notarized. You may file a complaint using the attached Police/Security Complaint Form. The form must be notarized prior to electronic submission. E-mail complaints to hr@pobtx.com

Complaints must be submitted within 30 days of the incident unless a special circumstance exists. The person who was wronged must file the complaint; other persons may give statements as witnesses. Port of Beaumont investigators will ensure a thorough investigation of each complaint is conducted.

Just as citizens who are arrested must be told of the charges against them, the police officer or Patriot security guard must be given a copy of the complaint before any investigative action is taken. When the investigation is completed, the filing parties will be notified of the results.
